YEAR 1-8 CHILDREN – Drawing – Cities
In this programme the children designed and created their own city using vivid, watercolours and paint. They made observational drawings of skyscrapers, towers and motor vehicles. Using a clever assemblage technique, their finished cities were 3D. They learnt about background, middle ground and foreground in the making of it.
Here are some of the children’s masterpieces:
YEAR 7-8 CHILDREN ONLY – Raggy Quilts
4 more girls have now made their very own raggy quilts and learnt lots of sewing skills along the way that they will be able to build on in the future. They were very proud of their achievements.
Here are some of the girls snuggled up in their own creations:
YEAR 1-8 CHILDREN – “Wild Things” Cushions
After a special request from the younger children everyone had another opportunity to sew on the sewing machines. In this programme we dyed wool blanket fabric in the microwave and then we designed and created wild things which we then appliqued onto our wool fabric. Then wool fabric was sewn into cushions. The amount of sewing done varied according to the age of the child. eg. Applique stitches, sewing on buttons, straight sewing. Plus the older children learnt to insert a zip.
The finished cushions looked amazing and they were all so unique. Each child went home cuddling their creations with pride:
