YEAR 1-8 CHILDREN – Painting
Over the centuries many artists have been inspired to paint sunflowers. Here are just a few:
In this class the children will paint their own version of “Sunflowers”. They will have the opportunity to use modelling compound to create a textured surface on which to paint.
There will be an additional cost of $20 for this class to cover the cost of a canvas so that the art work will come home ready to hang on the wall.
YEAR 7-8 CHILDREN ONLY – Raggy Quilts 4 children Only
This is a very popular class with the Year 7 and 8 children, in which they get to make their very own raggy quilts. Mrs McAdams, a teacher and highly experienced quilter, is the teacher for this class.
The children do not need any sewing experience and they do not need a sewing machine of their own as these will be provided. The class size is limited to just 4 children.
The finished quilt is approximately 127cm X 162cm. For this class there is an additional materials cost of $80.
The children will learn:
- To accurately cut fabric using a variety of tools
- Sewing Machine safety
- To sew accurately
- To design, layout & construct their own quilt

AFTERNOONS: 12.30PM – 3.30PM
YEAR 1-8 CHILDREN – Sculpture – Clocks
In this class we will be creating clocks and a clock mechanism and a battery will be provided so that the clock will really work. The clock could be wall hanging or free standing depending on the child’s design. Here is a wall clock made by Grace Bluck in a previous class:
For those children attending for the whole day there will be a supervised lunch break from 12- 12.30pm.
Venue: Artroom at Saint Kentigern Girls’ School, 514 Remuera Rd, Remuera.
Fees: $220 for 5 mornings or 5 afternoons or $420 for 5 full days.
Additional cost of $20 for materials for the morning painting class or $80 for the Raggy quilts.
