APRIL HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
MORNINGS: YEAR 1 – 8 CHILDREN – CLAY
Back by popular demand the children worked with clay. This programme was for those children who are beginners to those who have worked with clay before. The children created a variety of pieces which have now been fired in the kiln.
Here are just a few of the fired pieces:
MORNINGS: YEAR 7 – 8 CHILDREN ONLY – SEWING – RAGGY QUILTS
Another 4 girls have now successfully made themselves a raggy quilt. The skills that they learnt while doing it will never be forgotten and will probably foster a lifelong passion for sewing.
AFTERNOONS: YEAR 1 – 8 CHILDREN – FABRIC ART AND SEWING
In the afternoon sessions the children designed and created 3 pieces of fabric. They did tie dying, bleach dying and batik. The completed fabric was then sewn, by them, into a drawstring bag and a handbag tote. No sewing experience was necessary. The third piece of fabric was used for a mystery object that the children received back as a gift on the first day back at school.
