JULY HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
MORNINGS: Pacifica – Drawing, Printing and Weaving
In the morning sessions the children looked at Pacifica Art and the making of Tapa Cloth. They created 3D flowers, learnt to weave and created a printing block that they printed to create a border pattern. Then the 3 media were combined to create a Pacifica Style Art Work.

FULL DAYS : Sewing – Half Square Triangle Quilts
Four of our senior girls created their own designs and then spent the week making their design into a half square triangle quilt. If you look closely you can see the how the half square triangle blocks can be turned and arranged to create different patterns.
I am sure these quilts will become heirlooms for their families.

AFTERNOONS: Sculpture – Ancient Greek Urns
In the afternoon sessions the children looked at Ancient Greek Art and they created an armature using a balloon, plastic plates, cardboard tubes and cardboard rings which they paper mached over to create an urn. They looked at the symbols and patterns used in Ancient Greek Art to decorate their urns.
